Development :We have added 8 new members
i.e. growth and filled 3 unfilled classification
which are Travel Agent, Property Broker and Event
Manager. We also had RWM on “Bring a Friend”
and “ New Members Orientation”

Communication: Is shared in our weekly
meetings, quiz on Rotary was also organized in
RWM of 25th July '07

Members are divided into Six Clusters and a Past
President heads each cluster. |

Attendance :
Many of members are 100percenters and we are also
trying to motivate others. Members are also attending
club projects on a regular basis. Special meetings
are also held to motivate members to attend Meetings
and Projects.
Bulletin : Four/Eight
pages colour bulletin “Mahanagar”
is taken out regularly on a weekly basis which
is very informative.
Fellowship : We organize
3 Club Fellowship Programs and 3 Cluster Fellowship
Programs in a year. During this year we have organized
“ Jashn a Azadi” on 18th August where
club members had participated in Antakshari Program.
Diwali Night for members' family was organized
in an open lawn on 5th November with fireworks.
All enjoyed fireworks and games. We also organized
Club Charter Nite -” Om Shanti Om”
on 5th Jan'08 followed by Club Picnic on 17th
February, 2008.
Programs
: A good number of speakers from various
fields are invited in RWM.
Fund Raising : During
the year, the Club has organized Two Mega Fund
Raising Events. For the first time, our club had
organized one Fund Raising cum Entertainment Program
“Dil Se” with Four Fellow Clubs on
16th December at Science City for raising funds
for its unique project “Healing little Hearts”.
Its Fund Raising Exhibition cum Sale “India
Haat” was organized from 15th to 17th January
at Ice Skating Rink. Both the events were very
successful and were very well attended by members,
district officials, fellow club members and general
public and were appreciated by all. |

Microcredit Project “Swavalamban”
:Mega Micro Credit Project was organized on 2nd
September at Gorky Sadan where Certificates were
distributed to the beneficiaries/their representatives/
presidents of associated clubs for 61Rickshaw
Vans and 58 Sewing Machines. The Beneficiaries
were RCCs of 9 Rotary Clubs
Vocational Training &
Women Empowerment :

Junior Nurses' Training Camp "Swayamsiddha"-
Our Club has trained 30 Ladies as Junior
Nurses in a camp, which was organized in
two phases on 18th, & 19th August and
8th & 9th December at Dyan Ashram, Joka.
These ladies were distributed Certificates
at the Club's RWM of 26th December. Training
arrangements for them have already been
made with various hospitals. They are expected
to earn at least Rs 3,000 to 5,000 per month.
Driving license were also distributed to
drivers got trained by the Club.

9 Sewing Machines
were distributed on 1st July to ladies of
three NGOs & 4 Sewing Machines were
distributed on 15th August at Netaji Nagar
Bustee

Vocational Award :Mega

4 Way Test
Promotion :Two Boards displaying this have
been fixed on the crossing of AJC Bose Road and
Lansdowne, near Minto Park and exercise books
with back cover printed with 4 Way Test have also
been distributed to various schools.

Andhakar Se Prakash :
Eye Care & IOL The club is doing IOL surgeries
under its Matching Grant Project 52862. So far
298 surgeries have been done.
Physically
& Mentally Challenged: Is shared in
our weekly meetings, quiz on Rotary was also organized
in RWM of 25th July '07
Project Mobility
: i) The
club is doing Polio Corrective and Club Foot
Surgeries at Rehabilitation Center for Children
( RCFC ) and so far havesponsored 12 surgeries.
ii)
On the World Disabled Day, we have also distributed
9 mobility aids 2 Adults Wheelchairs, 2 Pediatric
Wheelchairs, 2 Tricycles
and 3 Axillary Crutches worth Rs 15,000 with
Nopany Institute, in the presence of the Governor.
Alleviation of Hunger
:
On 12th August the members & their spouse
and children served lunch to 51 mentally challenged
men & women of Boodhi Peeth, a home for
mentally challenged. Satisfaction of hands
on service was visible on the face of members
and especially the children. Bed sheets, hair
oil, soap and various other articles were
also distributed to them on the same day.
On 9th September, lunch was distributed to
51 inmates of Boodhi Peeth. |
Project Pulse Polio :
Door to door immunization of children is carried
out in Ward 21 & 22 of the city in Kalkar Street,
Malapara, Nimtala and Ahirtolla of Burrabazar area.
About 2951 children have so far been immunized during
the three NID/SNIDs held during the year.
Medical Services :
The club has organized Health Check up Camps on
various dates where General Checkup, ECG , Eye Check
up, Dental, Pediatric have been done and Spec have
been distributed. Free medicines
have also been distributed from time to time. A

Project Healing Little Hearts
: Continuing our Healing Little Hearts program
added few more smiles to young ones . The club has
done 12 surgeries during this year and has target
to do 100 surgeries. The club has successfully raised
funds for at least 75 Surgeries.
Aids Awareness : On
1st December, the club participated in Padyatra
organized by District on Aids Day for creating Aids
Awareness. |

Literacy
:
Udayer Pathey: This year
the Club has taken up a unique project “
Udayer Pathey”, an educational scholarship
designed to benefit the meritorious students
from the villages & small towns of West
Bengal and help them achieve their dreams
of becoming doctors in the future. The Program
was launched on 1st September and is a joint
effort with Asia Heart Foundation. This year
159 students have been given scholarship and
150 students each will be granted scholarship
for the next 5 years. The cost of scholarship
of one student is Rs 500 p.m.and Rs 36,000
for 60 months by Mayor of KMC and Speaker
of Lok Sabha. |

Concentrated
Learning Encounter ( CLE ) :
A training Camp was organized
from 1st to 6th October where Rtn. Shiv Kumar
Singh of Rotary Club of Damuli, Nepal, trained
40 Teachers from around 30 Centers. The club
has also distributed study material to these
teachers and training centers. The program
is being done under the Club's Matching Grant
Project 10754 The members and anns also visit
the training centers from time to time and
organize follow up meetings with these trainers.

Distribution
of Literacy Material :
The club has distributed
various literacy material such as exercise
books, pencils, pens, colour pencils, school
bags, story books etc to small under privileged
children of various schools. About 4000 Excercise
books, 350 story books, and lot of pencils,
erasers etc were distributed to underprivileged
children of 4 homes run by NGOs and to children
of ‘Ek Prayas’ and at “Netaji
Nagar Bustee”.

Lit
& Draw competition :
On 22nd July Sit &
Draw competition was organized at “The
Refugee” where about 100 children participated.
6 prizes were given to the students.

Children's Day Celebration
: On 14th November, Children's Day was celebrated
with the students of “Ek Prayas”. where
Magic Show was organized for them and Colour Pencils,
Biscuits and Chocolates were distributed to them..
They also put up some dance performance.
Project Water & Sanitation

| Tubewell
:
RC Calcutta Mahanagar
installed a Tubewell at Bagnabarh, Pingla,
Midnapore (West) on 26th September'07 at a
cost of Rs 14,000. It will provide water to
the villagers who were suffering due to acute
shortage of Water. |
| Water
kiosk -Drinking Water Facilityl :
One Water Kiosk has been put up at KMC Pay
& Use Toilet at Gol Park at a cost of
Rs 70,000, where provision for Cold Filtered
Water has been made.. This Water Kiosk will
serve the public of Garihat and Southern Avenue.

| Toilet
for Female Students at KMC School Building:
On 8th December an
MOU was signed between KMC & RCCM under
which RCCM has agreed to construct Toilets
for Female Students at KMC 108 Own Building.
One such toilet has already been constructed
at D L Khan Road School at a cost of Rs
25,000 and handed over to the school on
10th December 2007.

Services |
GSE Team The club hosted GSE team from USA.
The members of the Team were taken around
the city and to the various Projects of
the Club.
Annual Giving This years target $ 18,000

Projects -- Bihar Flood Relief -- Healing Hands
to Nature's Fury |
On 15th August One Truck Load Relief materials
worth Rs. 1,25,000 were
sent to Begusarai, Motihari and Darbhanga.
The project was done with
fellow clubs and District.
